We decided to take in the first of the Holy Week processions in San Pedro de Alcantara on Domingo Ramos (Palm Sunday). The two floats, one of Jesus on the donkey and the other with the Virgin Mary, beginning their journey through the streets of the town by emerging from the main church in front of a packed square made up of local people and also many visitors. Accompanied by two bands, the procession made its way around the town, the streets lined with people, before returning to the church after approximately two hours.
