After several years' absence of the service, flying direct between Malaga and New York is once again possible.
The first Delta Air Lines flight, which left JFK airport on Wednesday night, arrived in Malaga airport at 12.20pm on Thursday afternoon while the first passengers to head to the Big Apple without any stopovers from Malaga were in the departures hall checking in.
Throughout June Delta will fly between the two cities three times a week with the planes will leave Malaga airport at 2pm. From July the frequency will increase to four times a week and Delta expect to fly 70,000 passengers a year on the route.
