Malaga AVE’s millionth passenger

The high-speed rail service between Málaga and Madrid has carried its one millionth passenger. The date on which the AVE broke through the barrier, July 4, also saw a record 8,934 people using the service in a single day. Trains began operating on the new tracks between the two cities last December 24.
Gibraltar Airport contract

Gibraltar’s government has announced that the contract for the construction of the new air terminal and related facilities has been signed. The statement said the contractor is Dragados SA, who won the tender conducted in accordance with the applicable EU tender procedures adding: "The contract sum is 59 million euros, and the contract provides for completion of all the works by April 2010."
